Our pastor is Olatunde Akingbade Akinwumi. Ola has been married to Peju since 2003, and they have three daughters. They are passionate about making Christ known everywhere and making disciples for the Lord. Olatunde trained as a legal practitioner, and he was in active private legal practice in Nigeria. He represented clients' interests in litigation, commercial, and banking law before answering the Lord's call to the Gospel ministry in 2007. Ola and Peju, along with their daughters, served the Lord for over a decade at The Glad Tidings Baptist Church in Ogbomoso, Nigeria, where Ola served as associate pastor, overseeing the church's educational and discipleship training ministries.

When he sensed the Lord's calling to move to Canada as a church planter, Ola enrolled at the Canadian Baptist Theological Seminary in Cochrane. While at the Seminary, he was sent to Inverness Community Church by the Seminary for the Seminary Day. The pastor of Inverness Community, Mark Palmer, shared his church's vision to plant a church in Port Hawkesbury with him and asked him to pray about it, whether God would lead him to bring the vision to fruition. Ola and his family prayed about this development and confirmed it is God's direction for them. So upon completing his training, Ola and his family moved to Cape Breton Island in August 2024.

In effect, Ola joined the Canadian National Baptist Convention as a church planter. Olatunde holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and a Master of Laws (LL.M) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, a Master of Divinity (M.DIV) from the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso, Nigeria, and a Master of Christian Studies from the Canadian Baptist Theological Seminary.
